Midway- How to Checker

It's very similar to my method and tools. I line the initial cuts, but prefer my diamonds to have more of a bevelled edge for that 3D effect in the checkering, so a variety of cutting tips are used. I thought the checkering in the video looked a little 'flat'. Just my opinion and taste though.

Yes he states that @29 sec mark called "Flat Top Checkering"

May I ask where you got your Checkering set from? I see Brownells has a few options.
Just wondering if someone in Canada carries a good set.

Right about the flat top - thanks
I bought my first basic set of 4 or 5 tools made by Dem-Bart, at Elwood Epps in Ontario. I have since been fortunate enough to buy a large set, of the same brand, from a retiring gunsmith and stockmaker. I buy replacement parts from: http://kvwoodcarvingsupplies.com/product_category/gun-stock-checkering-tools/ (in Canada)
I see they have sets as well.
