I picked up a Cooey .22 single shot and want to a complete rehab. so I want to remove the trigger. It would appear to be held by a solid, tapered ? pin. Can I just drive it out or is there a trick involved. Thanks.
My experience has been a straight pin. General rule of gunsmithing is drive pins out from left to right when looking from the butt end, and put them back in from right to left. If you encounter tapered stuff this should be the way they are tapered.
Most of them are peened over at each end... file one end as little as possible and drive it out... and then re peen it when assembled. A small nail can be used as a replacement.
