I just picked up a Cooey 600, I guess it's also known as a Winchester 600. It's in pretty pristine condition.. just a couple of rub marks on the barrel, stock is immaculate. Also has a scope mounted on it.

Just curious if there is anything I should be doing to it other than a clean/lube session? I put about 40 rounds thru it and then did the aforementioned clean and lube. Bolt is much smoother now... it was a little sticky before. Shoots a very tight group at 25 yards.

Also, does anyone have a manual for it, or know where I can download one? I've searched, but so far no luck.

youtube will be your go to for take down information ect.

Mine will shoot a 2 inch or smaller group at 100 yards. Solid little rifles. Great Canadian history.

Really? 2 inch? Well, I guess I've got a lot of work to do... it certainly shoots better than I do. Yes, love the fact that it was made in Canada.

Takedown for basic cleaning was pretty easy, and yes, it was due to a youtube video. Even one that shows how to disassemble the bolt. Not sure I'm ready to tackle that just yet.

My only Cooey is a model 84 in 20ga, but a good number of Cooey 22s have come and gone in the last 6-7 years, including a nice 600 like yours. They're light, shoulder nice, decently accurate, long/creepy trigger, etc. I was never fond of the cocking effort, and have a real aversion to tube mags...but they're good/simple guns built to last forever.

I have my grandfather's Cooey 600, also made by Winchester in Canada, one of a few that I will never part with. Mine is also very accurate, likes pretty much any standard velocity 40 grain bullet. My grandpa got it as a retirement gift when he left the RCAF in the 60s, used it to kill rabbits, grouse, deer, 'coons, and porcupines. I have used for the same except for deer, I prefer bigger stuff for the bigger stuff.

Yes I had Zero'd at 50 yards. Did this quick group at 100 yards to see my drop before I went out to slay ground hogs.

1 inch squares. CCI Standard.

Point of aim was center target... 2x7 optic.

That's pretty impressive, thanks for sharing. I don't have access to a 100yard range. The one I belong to is only 25meters. I do occasionally go to one my friend belongs to that has a 50yard outdoor range. Be interesting to see what it, and mostly ME, is capable of.
