cool 800 yd AMax retrieval

We were testing new .308 168 gr AMax loads today from 100 - 800 yds, and look what I recovered (from the 800 yd target). It was sitting beside the target on a mound of dirt in the slope/bank. Shot from 700p LTR.

And here's the target. I think I've found the right recipe!?

Actually we saw them perfectly from where we were

We actually ended up setting up the spotting scope up about 120 yds away, and 200' below the target on a logging road. Perfect for spotting hits.

Two way radios are your friend in this scenario I guess. Must be nice to have access to some looong range stuff out in the boonies.

Steelco was kind enough to direct him to Kenyon lake & Salsbury lake area north of mission (complete with lat & long), and others were kind enough to answer questions he asked about shooting near Stave lake, thus my guess is that general area.

Last week end I was lucky enough to recover a bullet(Berger 210Gr. VLD) at both 1500yards and 1760{1 mile}! It is sooo cool to have bullets that traveled so far to the target. Both of my bullets were heavily deformed. Indicating to me that even at these ranges they have enough energy to mushroom and perform. Cool!
