Cool double rifle

And if you just shoot once and want to reload you toss alive round on the ground?

Interesting, but still just a gimmick. I wouldn't give you $50 for one.

Blaser will make you one with every feature your heart desires, but like the guys say "will you put a second mortgage on the house" :eek:this gun was designed for some Shikke in Dubai, so I don't think remington will be selling these anytime soon!! I would love to have one with 2 differrent calibre barrells, and I would fullfil one of my dreams of owning a European double rifle:D

A good double only ejects the fired round when you open the action. If I had buckets of money I would probably have one just to keep as a curiosity. But a double bolt gun is an answer in search of a question, and proves that just becasue you can build something doesn't mean you should.

With respect to break open double rifles, being brought up on bolt guns, I do not seem to adapt well to other options, and the DR is no exception. I hunted with a John Wilkes .500 Nitro Express while I was in Africa, and I was frankly underwhelmed. When you wish to reload, the action tends to stick closed, both doubles in camp did this, so I think it is just the nature of the beast rather than the ammo being loaded too hot. The PH had a knack that allowed him to quickly open the action . . . I did not. The piece weighed over 12 pounds, and although it was well balanced, not many North American hunters would choose a 12 pound hunting rifle. The express sight was narrow and deep, rather than wide and shallow, which tended to cover the target, but while this was a problem with this particular rifle, it is not representative of the breed. The PH offered it to me for a measly $40K, and frankly I wouldn't of traded a good bolt gun for it, and told him so.
