"Beneath Clapham South Tube station lie a warren of tunnels which provided shelter for 8,000 people during World War Two.

The tunnels, which are 120ft below the surface, have now been opened up for public visits by Transport for London (TfL) and the London Transport Museum."

Former military bunkers and installations are always interesting ; there are quite a number of videos on former German bunkers as well....if those bunkers could talk , what a tale they could tell....

Those are really neat, its great that they opened them up so people can see them again, and I'm surprised at what good condition they seem to be in. I'd certainly like to see them if I ever get to London.

Those pics are very neat I wish they would a tour for the German Templehoff airport now that would be special

X2.

I did see a show concerning bunkers in berlin a while ago, and it touched briefly on the tunnels/complexes under Templehoff airport. It must have been huge. They were repairing and building airplanes under the airport right up until the last day of the war.

yes they were and apparently SS put all kinds of mines and trip wires down there before pulling out tunnels went for may KMs under Berlin all the way to Hitlers bunker and elsewhere this was how they were able to get troops behind the Russian lines not that it made much difference and how many top Nazis escaped Berlin
