My Lady friend ( at some age, we are past GF) was all excited about the present she found for me, she dropped it off this morning.

I'm assuming that it is British in origin... anyone know much about this? Awful big bore and short...howitzer maybe?
And yeah, she is that cool...I let her know on a regular basis as well.

You both have good taste - you in companions, her in wines. The diameter of the case mouth will get your questions half-answered.

New Zealand 1932 ?

Here is one SIL gave me , its baby, 40mm, it is about 50mm long No clue on it, came from Ca. Milt.
A fuse to blow charges? Kind of what they do.

About 6.25" across... guessing it had a pounder designation.

A 100-pounder is 6.4". As I scanned the artillery tables of bores and pounders, I think you have a naval shell casing not artillery. The largest conventional artillery maxes out about 203mm or 8". The projectile, charges and case have to be handled individually due to excessive weight for the gunner.

Dimensions would aid greatly.
KN in drum logo , Kings Norton Metal co making it pre 1922 IIRC.
CF Cordite Filled

It could be Naval...but one would have to ponder how it came to CFB Suffield. Pretty large to blow holes in the dirt...maybe gas delivery system?
