coonan 357

I had one for years and they are an exceptionally well made pistol, mine was one of the first few years production and I can only hope the new ones are as good. This pistol NEVER jammed or stovepiped and had an outstanding trigger for an auto. Only down side is you MUST have big hands to shoot it comfortably. The grip is slab sided and quite thin due to the single stack but it is very deep through. My hands are 2XL so needless to say I loved the feel of it, accuracy was also exceptional with full power 140 JHP loads I used to use in it.
I took this pistol to Africa as backup in the leopard blind, just in case the leopard decided to share our rather small blind, however leopards didn't co-operate and I didn't need it. I also carried it for personal protection in Jo'burg, in the back of my shorts, and it is so flat that with a loose shirt, with the tail out no one ever notices it.
You can also buy a different recoil spring and shoot 38s out of it, I did this a lot at our indoor range in the winter time. I can't say enough good about the Coonan and I can't think of a single shortcoming...........except maybe cost.
