I've been curious to ask owners of Cooper's 280AI if any of you had used factory ammo to test the accuracy of them, both at standard and long range, mind you "280AI factory ammo" is to be use loosely, there ain't much out there!

Cheers
Ben

280ai

I handled this rifle at the SCI show in vegas in february and was very impressed with it. I am a di-hard remington fan but am really thinking of giving this rifle a go. I was told that it is a 3/4 MOA rifle with factory ammo. Thats what the cooper sales guy told me....

I've only heard great things on this caliber (the intend of the thread isn't to open another discussion on it :D) and on Cooper as well of course (Clay @ ProphetRiver has been fantastic to deal with). Did the rep mention any ammo manifacturer in particuliar? this eventhough we all know each rifle will have a preference to a certain bullet & load, due to the very limited factory ammo, I think it'd be a fair question to have Cooper provide info on.

Misled

I seem to remember them mentioning nosler custom ammo. Don't quote me on it, not even sure if they make that caliber or not.

They do make it. But you can use regular 280 in the AI chamber. - dan

Is Cooper using the original AI specs or the Nosler/SAAMI specs? Just had the discussion with another forum member on this.

Definately not a bad idea to use regular 280 and save the brass for later (I know the Nosler brass in their .280AI wasn't cheap last I checked)

brother has one and loves it I have seen him go 700 with it real nice gun one of the best triggers i have ever seen we are both reload though
