I went shopping last week for a scope for my new Cooper 280AI,and I did not come home with a Swarovski as I expected that I would.I compared the new Leupold vx3 3.5x10x40,the Swarovski 3x10x42,then I noticed a Kahles 3x9x42 on the shelf.I compared all three, and ended up choosing the Kahles as it is the most compact, and the optics seemed better than the Leupold, and at least as good as the Swarovski. The price was a little more than the Leupold, but less than for the Swarovski.I had been waiting for Clay to bring in some Talley lightweights, but I thought that I would try the factory bases, and some Leupold medium rings that a friend was not using. To my surprise, even with a very little adjustment to move the scope in the rings, the eye relief is perfect for me.I could even get by with low rings, but the scope falls into place perfectly,so I am going to try the setup as is for now.Fully rigged, the Rifle weighs just under 9 pounds, and is quite handy and compact. My plan is to load some 140gr accubonds up tonight, then test fire the gun tomorrow weather permitting.
