cooper jackson hunter

They are not light rifles. I've got one in .280 AI with both wood and synthetic stocks. It's 8.3 lb and 8.2 lb respectively with Leupold bases and rings attached. It's a bit of a bear to carry with that long barrel but man, does it ever shoot well. Performance of the .280 AI in such a long barrel is very similar to any of the 7mm mags that I've owned. So similar in fact that I sold all three of my 7mm Rem Mags. I'd love to have a 7x57 (.275 Rigby) but a 9 pound scoped rifle in 7x57 is a way too heavy.

Does anyone on here have a cooper model 52 Jackson hunter with a 26 inch barrel that can tell me what one weighs?

Thanks
Between my son and I we have 3 Cooper rifles with 26" barrels. All three weight 8.75 pounds, sans rings, bases, scope, ammo, bi-pod and sling. The Coopers are very robust, heavy firearms. I'm constantly switching shoulders or hands while walking. However, they are a masterpiece of craftsmanship and most accurate.
