Had a call from Cooper today. They are interested in making us some M 22 Coopers (single shot bolt) in 303 British. Also, willing to do some custom serials, or engraving on pistol grip cap, etc. Any ideas?

What kind of engraving were they/you thinking? Do something commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the end of WWII with custom #'s, and I'd bet you'd sell a few. I'd be interested. Maybe a certain number in 30-06 as well?

with cooper, the nice thing is, every rifle can be different. can engrave whatever you might want :)

For engraving I was thinking about a well executed maple leaf or perhaps crossed US & Canada national flags? For the custom serial number I was thinking of some combination of wording/numbers that would be of significance to Canadians? I am very open to ideas! Personally, I am a huge fan of the 303 British round & have wanted to see it offered in one of our rifles for some time. We built one & it was well received but I'd love to see a special run for our friends to the North! Please offer your ideas & suggestions & with the help of Prophet River perhaps we can make it happen!

I would be interested but I need to see pricing before I commit. I recognize that high quality comes with a price but summer expenditures are already in the works. Ben

I know coopers are fine rifles but in my opinion if you made a modern rifle in .303 in around the $800-$1200 range I think they would sell like hot cakes.
It's a great idea but a $3000 custom rifle is just not feasible for the little guy. And who wouldn't want a brand new .303 cause let's face it and you can call me a blasphemer but Lee Enfields are garbage for accuracy. They were made to survive the trenches not be accurate.

It would be nice to get a basic Classic model, sans checkering in .303 British for around 1500 bucks. A simple
maple leaf on top of the barrel, 1/2" ahead of the receiver would work for me.

Seeing as Cooper is into doing up rifles for rimmed cartridges, it would sure be nice to see some Model 22's done up in .25-35 Win, .32-40 Win and 7.62x54R. These would be beauty.:)

Your bottom end Coopers are now approximately $3000.00 Canadian .
While they are a great rifle, they have become over priced for the features they offer.
The Wood quality has also greatly suffered in the past year or so.
When custom features are added the price point for these Rifles is in excess of $4000.00, further narrowing the field of potential buyers.

I currently own 4 Coopers , wish I could afford to own more.

With the low Canadian dollar and the hottest economy in Canada faltering due to low oil prices, I don't see many people purchasing a single shot .303, with rather plain wood for $3000.00 plus.
