The last time I had my rem 700 sps ss 30-06 out early this year I was having accuracy issues, I was so ticked I put in the safe and left it. Mainly because I've been playing with my rimfires. yesterday I pulled it out of safe to have a look and found the barrel fouled up, I went and picked up a nice dewy rod and some cleaner recommended by my LGS. After spending quite a bit of time cleaning I still can see quite a bit of copper fouling in the rifling. Any help as ive spent most of time with my shotguns and rimfires and am fairly new to this issue.

Pick up some otis copper remover. It is the best stuff I have tried. Mpro 7 and hoppes didnt do anything to the copper. My model 70 coppers lots but still seems to shoot well so I'm not overly worried about it. Whipeout is suppose to work very good as well.

There are many bore solvents that remove copper fouling. Any gun store would have one or several of these products.

Montana extreme bore cleaner. Run 2 patches thru before bed and then patch it out with 6 in the morning. Because its oil based it is safe to leave in overnight. Its awesome.

KG 12 is the final answer to a copper fouled barrel.

More agressive on copper than any other product.

Better and faster than CR-10 or Sweets [both of which I have used successfully]

Will not harm your barrel, and need not be neutralized.
Environmentally benign.

My two go to products. Gunzilla for cleaning, lubeing and protecting Copperzilla for copper removal.

A copperzilla soaked patch gets run through, wait 10-15min and push a fresh dry patch through. Heavy copper fouling comes out in coils and the patches are indigo blue. The sh!t works.

Thanks for the input guys, that's why I love this site. That KG 12 looks pretty impressive and $15 seems like a small price to pay to have my accuracy back.

At least today wasn't all bad, I picked up some cci green tag for my savage bv and took some wind down time in my back 40 and shot the smallest group I have ever shot, 5 shots in the pretty near the same hole...
