Copy vs Clone?

So here's what might be a dumb question... :oops:

Anyone enlighten me on the difference between a copy and a clone. In some cases I've seen the terms used interchangeably, but I don't think that's right. I'm pretty sure when a company states that they make a copy they imply certain specific things. I've got a pretty good idea of what it means, but I'd like to hear an expert opinion.
