There has been lots of conversation regarding a $1000 AR platform rifle. When we went looking for an AR of our own, it was not with a view to hit that price point, rather, to get a superior product. The fact that it did hit that price was nice, but not necessary in our decision making process.
Below are some of the reasons why we chose them.

Mil-Spec (see below)Forged 7075-t6 lower receiver, type 3 class 2 hard coat anodized finish, beveled magwell, machined chevrons in the front strap and bullet pictogram safety markings.

16 inch M-4 profile stainless steel match grade, grade 3 polygonal groove barrel with 1:7 or 1:8 twist.

But the feature we liked best....lifetime warranty

Mil-Spec and Mil-Standard Explained

In the firearms industry you hear the term Mil-Spec thrown around quite a lot. Let’s talk for a minute about exactly what the term means. A specification is a standard to which the end user, in this case the US military, wishes something to be made and held to. The primary reason for this is consistency and interchangeability. Within that realm, and for what the Military Standard covers, there still remains a vast span of places and areas to “tighten up” if you will.

Let’s take a look at a few of those places…

The barrel arguably needs to be very consistent and well-tuned part of the rifle. The Military Standard here, for 14.5” and 20” M4 barrels, requires consistency of .0010 from front to rear. Here at CORE15, nothing less than .0003 will make it through our inspection process which is twice the Military Standard in tolerance. Indeed, that inspection process itself is 10x tighter than what the military requires, which is a 10% inspection rate. We inspect and test fire 100% of our barrels and in turn complete guns, no questions asked.

Beyond the barrel, in getting to the action, simply keeping within the guidelines of Mil-Spec conformity is not enough for us. Going above and beyond, both in the in the fitment, finish quality and internal parts, we do everything possible to take the AR-15 platform to the next level.

Yeah I've been oogling this thing bad.. I could go for norinco and save 400 bucks but no lifetime warranty and its chinese, having worked and lived in Asia I rather not support their economies.. I work in IT and anything with Lifetime warranty means one thing.. Its good.

I know I have been pestering you via emails, but once I start the buying process how long before its in my hands?

Def. have to put the NEA on hold pending review of the CORE15. Too many toys to get both so will have to pick one. Can't wait for the reviews.

Feels like a quality gun when holding it too. Fit and finish is very nice and I'm a fussy bastard. If my wish list was not still so full I'd get one right now.

Are these barrels avialable with a chrome lining as an option?

chrome lining is not needed unless you shooting full auto.
and for sure not needed on stainless steel.
Chome lining is a thiong of the past much better finishes coming to the gun market now.

With respect, there are very valid reasons for desiring a chrome lined barrel for the moderate and hi-volume shooter. It would only help you if you had this option, as the norincos have it and are cheaper too. It would increase the appeal of your rifle. And I truly wish you success in doing so. One cannot go wrong in considering these requests.

Alternate coatings like melonite and nitro-carburized seem like exciting developments, yet it may be well too early to see how durable they are. Last year I searched and could find no independent labaratory data to veruify sales and manufacturers claims. So for me, chrome lining equal durability.

Yes, they are cheaper. For many reasons.....

Absolutely!! And only properly applied hard chrome should be mentioned ..... cheap is cheap.

Not to mention their finish is TERRIBLE. I have seen the new ones and they are still terrible. So factor in a new finish and you are very close to the same price for a still inferior product that is not made by a fellow North American...

I order mine Today.. I hope.. I didn't get any calls back with problems so I can assume everything went right. :D
