I would like some input from you members here.... what do you guys think appropriate size targets would be for 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, yards? Im thinking 3 different sized targets for each range, so we can do different skill level matches. all targets will be made from steel.

Thank you

Hello,

I like to shoot a board with a bolt in it at 50 yards. The bolt head is about the size of a penny.

Been thinking about a new one -- a pendulum type -- with several bolts this size threaded into it.

For 100 yards, I like a prairie dog swinging target. The challenge is to hit it right each time in any condition.

Regards,

Josh

For me and my old Cooey's with iron sights, 2 MOA at any range is enough of a challenge to keep me honest. 1MOA is hittable, but not consistently.

Haven't done anything serious over 150, but I'd think 3 or 4 MOA as the range starts getting out there.

You can base target size on standard Olympic 50 m target ring sizes:

10 ring - 10.4 mm
9 ring - 26.4 mm
8 ring - 42.4 mm
7 ring - 58.4 mm
6 ring - 74.4 mm
black part - 112.4 mm

and scale it proportionally for 100 m and so on.
