Hello everyone.

I have a regular supplier of 7.62x25 that I'm buying from. The last 4 boxes of 70 rds, obviously from a new case, are very dirty. The rounds display some sort of frosty white layer (I'd say corrosion), and it got worse with the last two boxes I bought today. The corrosion feels very gritty to the touch and is not easily removable. Won't go away with a finger rub or a fingernail scratch. Check out the pictures below...

I won't shoot these rounds very soon, was buying them to stock them until summer comes. So the questions are, should I attempt to clean them for storage? How? And, should I talk to my supplier and inform them about a bad case?

Thanks.

do not tumble live ammo. powder can/ will break down into smaller parts and you can have a catastrophic detonation

I believe that's an old wives tale.

Edit: here is a post on the subject i read a long time ago. ww.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/989047_Tumble_live_ammo_Tumbler_Oandapos__thruth_EXTREME_edition__200hour_torture_test__UPDATE__fired_rounds_in_OP.html

Um, that link is very broken. :) But it made me curious and I googled the thing, so here it is, corrected. Thanks for sharing anyway :)
