Subject: CO's to enforce ATV reg's

As if they lacked 'real' problems to deal with,,, our local St. Thomas
(Ont.) Times Journal advises in an article, CO's target ATV drivers.
(Story not online).

They'll be extra alert to Off-Road Vehicle Act infractions and other
provincial laws. They generally seem over-joyed to enforce the FA.

Anyone got more?

What part of Ontario are you talking about. My encounters on northern logging roads with CO's they just checked for helmuts and loaded firearms, never asked for insurance, ownership or plates? Or did our CO use common sence?

Lee I think the Complusary Automoble Insurance Act speaks to motor vehicles used on public highways. I can double check if need to be, I have been away from it for over 5 years.

From what i here the MNR may be getting out of the whole enforcing buisness and turning it over to OPP. As well as they may be turning the whole resourses over to private in the not to near future. This was the rumours high upo tin the ministry prior to the election in January so it will be interesting to talk with my source now that the election has passed. It could be good and bad
