Cosmoline and WD40

I was cleaning some parts that were coated with cosmoline and having a pretty tough time getting them clean.

No sure if this common knowledge and I am just out in left field, but I tried some WD40 on a rag and was shocked how easy the cosmoline came off with only a little bit of spray. I cleaned a couple of oil bottles and a cloth carrying case in minutes.

It works. Kerosene works even better and is cheaper.

Brake cleaner works the same without leaving a residue

Boiling water works the best.

any cheap solvent will do .

I usually wipe the parts down with glass cleaner after using WD40 to remove the residue otherwise it will be oily and stink like WD40 for 2 weeks.
