Cosmoline Question

I recieved my new VZ-58 from Marstar yesterday and got to have a good look at it today. I looked down the barrel and it seems clear and slightly lubed.

I am not sure what to expect, what does the cosmoline look like? I had gotten the impression that the barrel would be packed with it and I imagined that it would look something like vaseline.

I either way I will strip it and clean it tomorrow.

The only thing I found in my VZ-58 form Marstar was oil. I cleaned all the metal parts with brake cleaner, relubed and went shooting. No problems here!

Well I cleaned it yesterday, there did not appear to be any colmoline in the barrel, it just looked lubed. Either way it has been cleaned and is ready for shooting.

In the 858 Tactical manual I got off this site, it keeps mentioning Oakum, I'am guessing this is the same as a patch?
