Hello, all new here, haven't fired a gun in about 25years.
My grandfather is retired Polish Army Colonel, and mid 90's used to take me (teenager) to army shooting ranges, introduced me to some guns, taught me how to shoot, etc....
But I ended up in Canada, and life went different direction without any interaction with guns.
It just hit me, that I'm 40, and I have no clue how to operate a gun, forgot everything I guess, and I remember it was extremely fun shooting rifles.

I will go for CFSC and CRFSC as soon as I can find a spot available, but how easy and how expensive is it to go to a range in Ontario ?
I'm trying to find this info, but I'm having hard time, trying to wrap my head around cost, and finding a range.
I would probably buy a handgun and a rifle first, so don't need to rent these.
I'm in Acton,ON

Those will be clubs that have their insurance through CSSA, its a good list

There should also be a list of clubs affiliated with OFAH, although I do not know how to find it.

I think I found it
You will be close to zones G,H,J
Go to

https://www.ofah.org/zoneh/

click on "zone clubs"

Repeat for the other zone, just change last letter in the link.....

There are lots of clubs in your area.
Expect to be put on a waiting list for membership.
The sooner you are on the list the better...

I am not sure how it works in Ontario, but in Quebec we have some "walk in" outdoor ranges that do not require membership.
For rifles, you pay $20 per weapon, and stay as long as you like. They supply you with 2-3 targets, but you can bring your own.
For the clay ranges, it's normally around $25 per hour, and a bit extra per shooter, I don't remember.
I don't have any hand guns so I don't know what that costs, should be similar.
Maybe there are similar ranges in Ontario?

I have heard that most Ranges in Southern Ontario now have waiting lists and that you might need someone to sponsor you to get in. In eastern Ontario all the ranges I know of are full except maybe the one near Stittsville.

Cost wise they range from a low of 160.00 (The ranger I belong to) and as high as 900.00
