Hi,

I need to start reloading as my addiction to IDPA is getting costly. Could some of the reloaders out there let me know how much you spend to reload 50 of each - 115gr 9mm FMJ and 230gr .45 FMJ? Can I get the difference if you have to buy everything including and casings and if you already have the casings?

Thanks In Advance!

Personally (and my shooting buddies as well) I don't bother calculating reloading costs. Think of it more in terms of fine-tuned ammo and the ability to shoot lots more. Depending on how much you spend on equipment and how much you practice along with match ammo, your equipment will pay for itself in about a year (more or less depending).

I have just recently started reloading handgun ammunition and have so far been able to get the cost of 9mm FMJ down to $6.98 per box of 50. This does not include the cost of brass.
Hope this helps.

About 2.50 per 50 if you cast your own. Same whether its 9mm or 45acp

bullets zero not counting the electricity of melting them down and casting

powder clays 92 + tax for 4 lbs. buy over 21 lbs free shipping at higginsons. 4 X 7000 grains / 3.9 grains per cartridge makes 7180 cartridges. Devide by 103/7180= 1.4 cents per round of powder

Primers I was paying 30$ shipped per thousand. 3 cents each so 1.4 + 3 is 4.4 cents per round x 50 is 2.20$ per 50

My FMJ 115gr. rounds cost me about 8$ per box of 50. I probably can lower this cost if i buy more of each component at the time. As i live in a small town and i cannot find any reloading component locally, so i have to include the shipping cost in my total.
