Gentlemen,
Here is part 2 of the data files of cost. Not to many people asked for it but those that did thought that this second cost files was important as I did. Remember, these files are for the number of parts of all types made for just ONE YEAR of production. I wonder why we the US is not gearing up like we did then ? Odd, but more people died on 9/11 then the attack at Pearl Harbor. Read the prices and weep.

Warning, before you go to my sites lower your volume as the opening page contains a sound file which has a loading and firing of the M1 Garand. So if you're at work or home it may be wise to check your volume control.

Thanks for the 2nd part Clancy. :)

Barrels are ok I'd imagine for the price pretty cheap when you consider the cost of a barrel nowadays vs. the cost of the whole gun. The En-Block clips were less then 2 cents each!

The reciver isnt mentioned though. But I'm willing to bet the reason it isnt is because its not cosidered a replaceable part and is hidden in the compete rifle's price. :)

Dimitri,
Sorry to say but the Receiver was a very important part. Spare receivers and barrels were built as "Spare Parts". I show a listing the 6 extra Barreled Receivers where to be built for every 100 that's right 100 M1 Garand Rifles built. They did NOT count as part of the ordered complete M1 Garands. Yes,
I have the numbers but that's what screws up the serial number lists.
Thanks again
Clancy
