Cost Query No. 4 Mark II

Over the years I owned several No. 4 rifles, which I sold due to financial need and other ridiculous reasons. Now, I find that I really would like to have a No. 4 Mk. II Fazakerley again with a No. 1 micrometer sight. What is a typical price for one of the later ones in unwrapper and fired state, or still wrapped and in grease?

I need to start saving, so I haven't put this in the buying section. It will be a while before I'm at that point.
 
Typical price for a used FTRd Faz is around $400-500. They usually are in excellent condition. I've got one hardly used - I can see a full half inch when doing the bullet test!

Cant give you a price for a mummy. Havent seen one for a while now.
 
The Mummy wrap Faz rifles aren't all that common anymore and collector's ask premium prices. In my opinion you will pay anywhere from $800-$1000 and up for a wrapped rifle. These are new, unfired rifles. if the wrapping is torn or opened the price drops...dramatically, to the point that it sells for little more than a used one in excellent condition.

Condition on used rifles drives the price for a "common" gun. Uncommon guns are in quite a different pricing category. {...and no, Irish Contracts aren't in this cat.}

A used No4MkII rifle in excellent condition with all accoutrements may fetch around $600? No matching bayo? $100-$150 price drop. No matching sling, pull through ,oiler? Price drop. Miss matched magazine? Price drop.

The price on the average all matching No4MkII would be around $400 for just the rifle in good to good + condition IMHO.
 
Usually the wrapping is opened in a small spot in the receiver area to check the serial number when imported.
They came with matching serialised No 9 bayonet. They are worth whatever someone will pay for a new in the wrap No 4 Mk II. They aren't making any more of them.
I asked a small dealer X-friend of mine to get ME two on them in the wrap, and I said they would be a good investment. So he got two for himself and one for me, that really ticked me off and I never really trusted him after that.
