Cost to Culminate No4T Scope Bracket

Anybody out there have a scope bracket collimated to a No4T rifle? Cost? Who did the work? Was it test fired? Was the bracket shimmed (material added) or removed? This is a very difficult job.

Collimating a scope after a repair is much simpler as it's done on a bench with a bore sight. There area few folks who can do this however the problem is not the scope put in the scope bracket/pad fit.

Scope in this case is Ok. The bracket is mismatched to the rifle.

With the reticle optically centered in the scope (spin it on v-blocks), how far is it out now from boresight?

Significant..it won't paper. Shoots very well with iron sights so it's not in the rifle.

Send Wheaty on here a pm. He will steer you in the right direction. On a real 4T you will want everything done right, as it was in service. I had enough trouble trying to figure out how to solder the pads that I went a different route, but my rifle is a replica. Having that much heat near a real No32 would make me very nervous.

Rifle and scope aren't matching numbers obviously?

It's a mismatched No4 T. Been shoot with and without scope assembly. Shoots very well with iron sights however can not get same performance with scope/bracket assembly.

I know a couple folks that do scope repairs/collimation however they do not adjust pads or brackets.

Anybody had this done?

I did this once, it is not difficult just very time consuming. You will need some space best from your home window to pick a point, mount the rifle in some sort of vies and mount and dismount the pads till you have that perfect fit

I have seen more than one No.4T set up with shims...... normally on the rear pad.
Collimation of the scope to the rifle is not a difficult job and especially for a talented tool and die maker as rgg-7 is, however, it can sure eat up a weekend.

All I have worked on were deflection (windage) error........ If you want to experiment, I have some quality repro pads sets so drop me a PM.
The soft solder on the rear pad is not that hard to melt but remember you are on the locking lug area........You don't need a rosebud tip on the torch!!!!!
