As most of my draws were no shows like so many others in alberta, I decided i'm going to try something new with a couple of buddies. COUGAR hunting!!

No not the easy to find Bar cougar that is so easily found at any dive in calgary lol.

Big Cats I'm talking about.

I already have an exprenced hunting group, just not in cougars, and a group of good hunting dogs, that will be able to tree a cougar (atleast we are hoping)

What i need is suggestions on areas in southern alberta, I can see the open areas they have starting late this year, and the timing and the areas in southern alberta works great for my crew and myself.

Just need to nail down a good area that is known for cougars, even if someone has an idea where there is a Den?

And we would welcome anyone that has tracked and brough down a cougar in the past, to join us aswell.

Bears go in dens, cougars don't . Get out early in the morning, several hours before daylight and drive the backroads in the foothills after a fresh snow. When you find a track, kick the dogs loose and away you go.

Southern Zones

If you're considering the southern zones 100's WMU's you are not allowed the use of dogs, it's a foot license only.
