SIMCOE - It seems that a cougar has indeed been spotted in Oakwood Cemetery in Simcoe.

Originally thought to be a coyote, Norfolk OPP has received calls confirming the animal is a cougar.

A call to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry by local police further confirmed that it's not impossible a cougar could be living in the area.

While police aren't equipped to track the animal, Norfolk OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk said anyone that sees a cougar in a populated area should call the Ministry of Natural Resources at 1-800-667-1940.

If it is admitted officially that there are cougars, then they will be listed as endangered, and this will change everything - logging, industry, mining and whether you can spit outdoors. Lets just call them escaped pets and carry on - but do Carry on.

LOL. Should I encounter a cougar on my property I will be certain to call that number. When I get a call back from the MNR the next day the optimum outcome will be to inform them there's a dead cougar on my property and give them coordinates on where to find what's left of the carcass after the coyotes get through with it. :d

You'd kill it if it were killing livestock/pets or simply "just because"?
