Could it be? Elk near Orillia, ON

Went for a grouse walk today in 76A and am damn sure I heard an elk bugling. Is this possible, any sightings out that way? Was I hearing things?

Thoughts?

We had a moose down here in Markham earlier in the summer, elk in orilla is quite possible. Or some yote guy hit the wrong call button.
 
Five or six years ago while moose hunting in 49 near Burk's Falls I had a bull elk cross the road in front of me. As luck would have it the other two guys in the truck were sleeping and didn't see a thing.
 
A game farm in Coldwater used to have a pen up the county road in 76A, they had Elk in there for years, I'd imagine there's still a couple in the pen, the main farm has since shut down,

MNR estimates about 400 Elk are in the Bancroft area. It's possible some migrated west.

Also could just have been someone practicing their Elk call for a hunt.
 
Yes there are elk in central and northern Ontario......on the nice days that are left (the other day )....well we all have our own out or stress relievers.....
So I decide to fire up the Ducati and go for a ride ....I feel the need for some elavated cruising speeds and some long sweepers ...and to clean out any carbon in the bike I won’t say in what part of town but yes there are elk.....so I descide to drive and warm up the tires for some long sweepers ...so yaaa hoo here I go weeeeeee!!!
I’m not sure why??? but I do have factory racing exhaust on my bike (very loud and attracts attention),!!!
It can be described sorta like a cow moooing in the distance!!!
I’m in the zone having a blast ( maybe when I’m pulling the gears it may sorta sound like a call or grunt?..)
And all of a sudden son of a biscuit!!!! 3 elk in the corner of my eye.....as I sh#t my pants with the bike cranked over and almost dragging my knee and holding on to my line and exit the ramp ....ok turn around go back the other way come around and
Jesus h Christ like right there on the side of the road grazing 2 bulls and a cow!!
Too far for pics .....I’m sitting on the bike clack clack with the sound of the desmo valve train going and the thump of the terminoni exhaust booming away! And there still grazing
So off I go pulling first gear down the road ...like the hammers of god coming down with the sound of the exhaust...ah beautiful sound
Whip around enter the ramp ....and they don’t even move just watching me go around and around
So I do this about 5..6 times off ramp down the road off ramp come around...weeeeee!...
And still just there grazing....
So I decide to pull up .... 2wonder off and a bull looking at me .....what a site no more than 50 meters away...we stare at each other and then he walks off slowly.....and turning his head back at me to look at me
If I was only able to get a pic
And to top it all off this is the second time I see elk in the same spot
So yes there are elk in Ontario
 
My friend has a property in King City backing onto the 400 and there is an elk living in the bush there, I never got a non blurry picture of it but it's definitely an elk

How old are you???
 
These are the 4 areas where elk were reintroduced throughout the reintroduction, so not really that far north and east from you. I hope to hunt them one day.

Lake of the Woods
Lake Huron North Shore
Nipissing/French River
Bancroft/North Hastings
