Could you dissassemble & reassemble your M1A in the dark?

Tried it last night. A touch harder than I had originally anticipated, but got it after the third try. Practiced it a few more times just to be sure!

yes, in fact I've done not only with the M1a's, but SKS's and my handguns

If it's meant to be field stripped it is done in the dark... no better time to do it!

I agree watching FMJ and working with the M1a is a must!

if you can do the fn, you can do the 14- if anything, teh fn was MORE complicated- BTW,the garand , m14 et al field manual recommends stripping it into 3 groups- stock, trigger group, and receiver group- stripping it further is NOT necessary unless you're getting stoppages - at which point you start on the gas assembly with the "klunk test"
