I recently did a trade for an optic for a Leupold 1.5-5x20 plus cash. Upon arrival of the Leupold something didn't seem right. I called Leupold with serial number 429175Y The confirmed that the serial number belonged to a 2013 3-9x40 vx3. I immediately contacted the member and he made everything right I have every reason to believe he was most likely sold it with poor intentions as well. He did make it right.
Here is the criteria for a fake vx3 1.5-5x20
1. ####ty turrets without flathead screwdriver heads and not able to reset zero.
2. serial 429175y
3. Has warranty card but on paper instead of cardboard
4. Box is a brass color vs yellow gold color
5. reticle is mildot vs the real duplex or #4
The person that traded me gave me full value for my optic. We agreed to that the leupold knock off will be destroyed.
