Counterfeit Zeiss Scope at Pawn Shop

I seen a Counterfeit Zeiss Scope at a local pawn shop for $800

I never thought I’d see one in person, but low and behold one appears locally.

Should a tell them it’s a fake?


Fake Zeiss is at Port Alberni Pawnbrokers LTD.

Yes. I would tell him. Can you get a web page or email of his shop?

I told a women working there and she let me know many optic manufactures like Vortex are making there products overseas.....I don't think I was going to get anywhere so I left. I'm probably to young to be taken seriously. I might stop by again when someone else is working there and try explain a second time. She also told me that the scope came in its original box...I wonder if the pawnshop got scammed by a customer or if they picked it up from a friend or family member to sell at the store.

After looking at the scope in person it felt pretty heavy and the turrets were audible, so I dont think it wouldn't be hard to fool a less knowledgeable buyer.

I’ll post a photo later of the one in question, however it was marked as a Zeiss conquest 4x16x50AO with green/ red illumination. Had target turrets and a strange rangefinding reticle I haven’t seen on the Zeiss website. It had no blue zeiss marking on the caps like most older conquests had and it definitely is not one of the newer HD5 Conquest scopes.
