I most likely can find the answers to this by boing a search, but the search function here makes me pull my hair out and my hair is becoming scarce.

I did a safety course at the NCRRA on Sunday; my score was no great shakes, but I was safe and there are no holes in me of my other classmates :). There will be an IDPA course at the range in the middle of June and I am considering shooting it. Do I need to be a memebr of IDPA before I get there, or can I sign up there (can sign up for DCRA at the NSCC if you want)? If you should b a member before hand, is it the American site I need to be in to apply for my memebrship? I was on the Canadian website, but I did not see anything about the membership, but my head was almost banging off the keyboard I was so tired.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

IDPA membership enrollment forms are located here:

The New Shooter Orientation Course is a requirement at some ranges and clubs and is run for the benefit of those shooters who wish to paricipate in IDPA. Membership is a requirement for ongoing participation in IDPA club sponsored events.

Holders of the IPSC Black Badge are exempt from the course but would benefit from attending as the IDPA shooting rules are coverd in the course.

Take Care

IDPA U.S. site is where you sign up. I thinks it's about $60 US. You'll be sent an ID card, IDPA cap and a rule book. Membership number is required when sending in SO course results etc.. The people on their phone line are real nice to deal with also. I had some issues signing into the members section and they were quite helpful.
