Jacques only sells the best. I have four from him. All non-refurbished. Two are without question unfired and probably unissued. The rivited mag is a clean method and 100% reliable, more so than a piece of bar stock riveted to the mag follower pivot point.
I also have a '53 Izhevsk... and it is the crown jewel of my collection. The fit, finish and workmanship is second to none of the SKS world.
I am only missing one non-refurbished to "complete" my collection, and that is an EARLY 1950 with the hand etched date/Tula star on the receiver cover, square gas block, etc. Though I have mild refurb shooter (with a replacement hardwood stock and blued bayonet) that is filling that spot for now.
