Hi . Just got a Beretta 1301 Tactical. Have a couple of questions.

1. 2 Black rods it comes with. Are they magazine plugs? I assume shorter one is for 3" and longer one is for 2 3/4"? is there a shell limit for hunting? Do i even need them?

2. It comes with Optima-Choke HP. Can I use it with regular and rifled slugs?

Thanks

Black plastic rods are for limiting your mag capacity, and the Optima HP chokes that come with it, The IC choke is what Beretta suggest to use with slugs

You can shoot foster/rifled slugs through a modified choke all day as well. The purpose of the "rifling" is to swage down through a tighter choke. Might not get the best results out of a full choke, but anything looser than that should be fine.

Also have a question on the 1301 Tactical which I just purchased. Is the magazine restricted to 2 rounds by Beretta? Loading some dummy rounds and I can only load two the magazine?
Thanks in advance

Remove the 2-rd hunting limit plug from the magazine tube.

You’ll need to remove the magazine cap and remove the magazine plug which is limiting how many shells will fit in the tube. It’s very simple to do and should have the procedure in the manual.
