Looking for some Devcon 10110, anyone know who stocks this stuff? Also whos the best supplier of Sierra 142MK's on this side of the border or does anyone ship from down there to individuals up here?

Thanks for the info. I checked Russels on line and Im hoping to do better than close to $200.00 for a 500 box considering the doller at near par and they go for about $130.00 down south.

Yup they do, but good luck finding anyone to do the proper paperwork on the US side for free for you. Unfortunately reloading components (bullets, brass, powder, primers) are one of those things that us Canadians are going to get bent over on for a long time.

Prior to retirement I used to order Devcon supplies for my crew from B.C. Bearing. You're in Prince and especially with the Pulp Mills in the area, I would imagine there is likely a B.C. Bearing outlet there as well. If so, give them a try.

Thanks John. Yes there is a BC Bearing here. I'll get on them tomorrow. Anyone know whats involved in grabbing a box of bullets Stateside and walking it across the border?

As long as the US Customs agents don't search your vehicle, and find them, you are good to go. :)

Do a search here, there are several threads dedicated to the do's and dont's of importing certain items.

i belive reloading components DO require you to have the required import documents otherwise your in big doo doo.

the 16-18 hrs of driving will eat up your $70 savings wont it not?
and by the weather forecast i bet the 97 is nasty :)

Or you could try Lapua 139's which are very similar and readily available in Canada. Marinetex is a comparative alternative to Devcon for bedding.

Just hinking the future in laws spend about 6 months in the States every winter. Got a reply from Sinclair today that they can ship up to 900 bullets without permit. Any idea what the duty if any would be on them? As for Lapua I worked up some nice loads with the 139's but they have to be jumped and Im not into chasing the lands. Also the 142's did group a tad better once the meplats were uniformed. Trying to figure out how to save a few bucks here and the Lapuas dontdo it. BS that we have to pay so much for shooting supplies with money at par.

Lapua generally don't have to be jumped and as for quality, most say Lapua is superior. However as experienced shooters know, it's what works in your gun that counts.

Don't forget the shipping costs from the USA. When you order from down south particuarily if it is heavy, prepare to bend over. With the Cdn dollar weakening you better buy soon.

Bergers also work well!

Talk to Russells about a bulk purchase. They buy bullets from Sierra at jobber rates and can easily afford to sell those at around $300 per thousand. Whether or not they will do so is another matter. Seeing as how there is no longer any real competition (with Russells and Wholesale Sports both being owned by the Butlers), it is considerably more difficult to strike a deal. Companies used to be willing to deal in order to get their volume up to get better cost pricing but this is not necessary for Wholesale/Russells so it's a bit tougher. They have no apparent desire to pass the benefits of the stronger dollar on to their customers. The formation of a bullet buying co-op might be a reasonable solution which would allow you to import legitimately. Regards, Bill
