Planning a 12.5" AR build, wanted to hear some first hand users opinion on which direction to go.

Battlecomp 2.0 vs. Surefire MB556

Which have you used and why did you like it?
If you have used both which did you prefer?
Are these suitable choices for a 12.5" barrel or do I need something like a KX3?
Pros/Cons?

Second question:

I am going to get a set of KAC micro BUIS and an Aimpoint T1, does anyone know which mount I need to have lower 1/3 cowitness with this setup? I was looking at ADM but not sure which one fits my needs.

I have a 12 inch AR and have found that the PWS triad, an Allen Gunworks linear comp, and the standard birdcage are all good but when I tried my Rainier Arms mini comp it was so loud and the concussion was so strong it was uncomfortable to shoot. Strange part was that the Rainier was great on my 14.5 inch. I would stay away from any muzzle device that has a brake integrated into it's design on anything less than a 14.5 inch barrel. Other than that go with whichever you find the nicest looking and that's in your price range.

I had my T-1 with the 1/3 co-witness mount with my Midwest Industries BUIS and hated it. I went to a full co-witness set-up. Best part about the full co-witness is that you can leave your rear sight folded and just line up so your red dot and the tip of the front sight post are lined up so you have perfect alignment and more consistent shot placement.

YMMV
Make sure to post pics when it's done :)

I have the kx3 on mine. I like it cuz it directs sound away from me and others on the line. Concussion really bad on the short barrels
Can't speak to the others you've listed cuz I haven't tried them.
Here's mine

I would go absolute cowitness but I don't like the cluttered FOV it creates. What brand was the 1/3 mount you had? How do you like the Midwest BUIS? Are they strong construction and good quality?

That's a nice looking rifle. I'm not a huge fan of the kx3 but it may be the better option based on the barrel length I'm choosing. Is that a Troy VTAC? What length rail/barrel? 13" rail/12" barrel?

I'm not sure which brand it was, I sold it and went to an EoTech XPS2-2.
The MI BUIS are fine for quality and construction but I never really use them. My 12 inch has Magpul BUS sitting under my ACOG, my 18 inch only has the scope and my 9.75 inch 300 blackout has them but they only got zero'd then the scope went on and I haven't used them since.
I have a spare set waiting for my next project :)
