Couple Questions about a Model 8

I'm doing some work for a guy and tonight he showed me his Model 8 chambered in 32 rem. It's still in it's original wooden case!

He was wondering what the value of it was? Also, is there ammo or reloading components available for this old round? Can brass be "made" from another caliber? He only has 4 rounds of ammo with the gun but would like to be able to use it.
 
Components are available. Factory ammo isn't, except from boutique (expensive!) loaders. You can use the same load data for the .32 Special and you're good to go. I am pretty sure you can neck up .30 Rem brass, but can't neck down .35 Rem as the .25, .30 and .32 Rem have a different head diameter. from the .35 Rem.
Ellwood Epps handles the components and dies you need. They may be able to get ammo too, but it will cost a lot of money.
Model 8's don't command super high prices. You also don't mention what kind of shape the rifle is in. Typically one sees them selling in the $400 to $600 range in good shape.
 
Unless it is in mint condition there is not a whole lot of collector interest. Kilo Charlie has the price about right though for well used specimens you would be lucky to get $300 in my area. The obsolete chambering doesn't help value. You can still pick up old factory loads at gunshows at least in my area. Or you can resize .30 Rem. Neat old rifles though, the safety reminds me of an AK.
 
The rifle is in great shape, and as I mentioned is still in it's original case. I said the same thing about the safety last night when I saw it, lol. I kinda figured it may be worth a little more but I guess not, oh well, lol.

To the right buyer it could be worth more than the average M-8.
.35R is the most desireable, with the .25 the rarest.
But in original wooden case & in what sounds like minty condition, I wouldn't hesitate to value it in the $7-800 range. IMHO of course & to the right buyer!
