Couple questions about my new M&P 22

Just got it in the mail today and can't wait to go shoot it. I have a couple questions though.

I'm not crazy about the idea of dry-firing a rimfire firearm. Is there a way to de-#### the hammer on this one?

Also, before I shoot it, I'd like to give it the Froglube treatment. Does Froglube work the same with aluminum parts (ie; the aluminum slideÉ)
When I Froglubed my Glock, I heated that sucker up with a heat gun till it was so hot I couldn`t hold it. If I was to heat up the aluminum slide of the M&P this hot, is there any chance it could warp the slide or cause any other kind of damageÉ

If you have to heat the metal to use it change lubes. Leaving the gun cocked won't hurt the springs and like you I don't like to dry fire a rmfire, particularly if the slide is aluminum.

It's an internal hammer, so no way to de-####.
I don't understand why you want or need to???

If you want to dry fire, buy some plastic dummy rounds. They protect the chamber.

I've never used frog lube, but heating a slide with a heat gun to apply lube seems to me like something you decided on, not something the manufacturer recommends... correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I stand corrected but it says to heat the mrtal not make it hot. I have been lubing guns for most of my life and haved used Frog Lube yet. Unless it is some kind of magic product I wouldn't be heating any of my guns to the point where I couldn't hold them just to apply a lube.

I think the purpose is to heat the gun enough to let the lube melt on contact and works into all the nooks n crannies. A hair drier would work but may take a while. A heat gun, used sparingly would heat it faster. I don't think heating it to scorching hot is the point of the exercise.

I just picked up some Frog Lube today.... great stuff. Yup you are suppose to heat the gun with a hair dryer or heat gun before applying. Stuff is super slick and smells GREAT!
