It's nice to see a newspaper print something good about hunters. The Calgary Herald ran this Letter to the Editor today.
"Courteous hunters
My family owns heritage rangeland on the Milk River ridge, south of Lethbridge. This fall, we have had a number of hunters request access to our land. Many of these people have been coming down our way, for years. I just wanted to send a huge thank you to all the hunters from Calgary and surrounding area, for the respect that you showed us.
We asked that you use foot access only and you complied; we asked that you keep our gates closed and you complied. The fact that you all show us so much respect gives us the confidence to allow hunting on our land from year to year and to know that it will continue. Thank you again and we look forward to hearing from you next year."
I hunted the area unsuccessfully this fall (the antelope are still laughing at me) but met the nicest bunch local landowners.
