Howdy folks!
Yesterday I went and saw my first live Cownoy Shoot. I made it to Fredericton NB where the some members of the Fredericton Recreational Shooting Association were holdong their first Cowboy Shoot of the year. Myself and a friend were welcomed like we belonged to the club. We had decided that we wanted to observe only. so we didn't bring any guns. We were offered guns so we could participate repeatedly but we held to our original idea. We both agreed that we would never do that again. The feeling of belonging was real and even when I had been told repeatedly by all you out there that Cowboy Shooters are the nicest people out there, I was still a little surprised at the warmth and the camaradery. You can bet your last dollar that we will be going again. The next place I want to visit is Truro, I was invited by "Wounded Belly" and I am really looking forward to seeing their shoot.
Until then I'll be doing little more practicing in the meantime.
Adios friends we'll see yall soon:dancingbanana:!!

I met up with 4 or 5 other people here in the Moncton area that are also interested in CAS we've been talking and are trying to get a group going. PM me if you're interested I'll fill you in as best I can. I would expect that we'll have an informal gathering within a few weeks. It would likely be at the Grande Digue Hunting and Fishing Club. They have a range where we've been shooting long guns. They are talking about revamping a handgun range that was let go. We'll see how it goes.

an ipsc shooter at Cape Pele also travels to shoot CAS in ns and NB. He has all the gear and is very active.

muzzleloading shoots held in moncton / varios spots in ns and nb are even better .

tough to beat the weekend bbq /camp out and 2 day shoots .............plus prizes ect.

Cagunman, you'll find find that kind of welcome in every CAS club and posse you meet up with. Anywhere.
It's the cowboy way.
Welcome to CAS

CAS shooters are the most helpful and friendly folks you will ever meet. A couple of years ago a friend and I attended the SASS Northwest Regional in Tri-cities. He was having trouble with his Marlin Cowboy, one of our posse members was the Washington State Champion, Shifty Jack, he lent my buddy his backup 73 which had a full action job and ss kit from Cowboys and Indian in California. I myself have had nothing but positive experiences with some of the best CAS shooters, including Kanada Kidd, China Camp, Lefty Longridge and Lead Dispencer. You do not often find a competition where the top competitors are so willing to help and advise. Just my 2 cents.
