I have a Marlin 1894 in 45 Colt. Will be switching to lead from the XTP. I've been reading about the different bores and am looking for a mould, sizer etc.

My question is - since my rifle is bored for and uses jacketed bullets at .452 and I'm going to cast and size in .452 - will it make a difference if I go up to a .454 sized bullet? And will the .454 be more accurate?

The loaded round may not chamber well or it may be intermittent, as the .454" bullet will swell the case to fit and that may not coincide with your chamber, in a CAS match, fouling could compound the problem of a tight chamber fit.

You should be fine with the .452 in the Marlin. Mine shot the 200g RNFP from the Magma mould that most commercial casters use very well. When I switched to a Uberti '73 I had to go to .454 since I couldn't get decent accuracy with .452.
