Has this sport come to Canada yet? Are any gun clubs in BC/Alberta set up to accommodate it?

Very interested in this, seems like a good way to do CAS without three guns and a costume.

Here is a poster outlining the regulations from Australia:

Thanks

Given the difficulty that Australians have with purchasing, use and storage regulations for handguns it is easy to see why this started. Can't see it happening here soon. Cowboy matches that have long range side matches are few and far between and generally follow SASS rules, in costume!

There was a very active Cowboy Sillywet operation at the Rocky Rod & Gun until the shtf tree yrs ago and the range was taken over by a couple or three fuds.

some of the targets that were privately owned have been moved to the Trochu, Ab. Gun Club and a new start is being made, trying to bring it back to it's original state. Anywhere from 10 to 25 shooters are showing up at the scheduled events. The dates haven't been advertised yet that I know of but will advise when I know.

They don't have a full regiment of "official" targets yet but improvise to have a full 40 target match for both pistol caliber lever guns (20-100 yrds)and full bore lever rifle (50- 200 yrd), all freehand & all guns must have "exposed hammers". Both men & women are welcome (regular contingent of 1/2 dozen ladies participate).

As well, a new sillywet range is still in the discussion stage for the new Cowboy setup being built at Pebbles Ridge Range 30 km southwest of Rocky (on Cow Lake road). A "shoot Cowboy Saturday, camp over & shoot sillywet on Sunday" may sound familiar to some on here...

Sounds interesting especially the full bore shoot out to 200 yards. Thanks for the info fingers.

Are there any muzzleloader events at the Pebbles Ridge Range? Is that a different group than the CAS?
