Cowboy mounted shooting. SAA replica suggestions

if they are getting approval of a temporary range then nobody would need to get a STATT because it would then fall under a ATT because it is a legal range.

From my research i am pretty sure that the sites are designated as temporary ranges. The CMS organizers have to provide a "qualified" Range Master and I think a lot of the time an RCMP rep is on site.

Please clarify that an ATT allows me to transport to any range not just the one that I am a member of. I though that an ATT only allowed you to transport to one specific club and if you wanted to go to another club you would have to get another ATT.

Clarification please. Keep in mind I am in New Brunswick.

Nobody except the very well to do shoot real Colts. They start around 3 grand Stateside. I'd be thinking Italian made copies too. Won't be as traumatic is you drop one in mud, etc.
Your horse trained to be around gun fire?
No you cannot shoot blanks just anywhere. Discharging a handgun is discharging a handgun and the local constabulary won't know the difference between a blank and live ammo.

In Saskatchewan and as far as i know most or all provinces there are two kinds of att's there is the STATT (short term authorization to transport) and a LTATT (long tern authorization to transport) and an LTALL grants a person the right to go to any approved range in the province or to a gunsmith (to have work done) for an extended period. mine like most was for five years but i remember hearing about them shortening the new ones to three years.

if i was you i would look up the federal and provincial regulations and print off a copy to bring with you. if an officer gives you any flack you can respectfully show him what the law is.

Would definitely contact your provincial CFO and get something in writing authorizing this activity. As mentioned above, you are shooting blanks out of real restricted firearms and all ATT rules would apply. Friend of mine looked into this a few years ago here in Ontario and it was a non-starter. Legally you couldn't even discharge the handgun on your own farm in your riding ring/arena to condition your horses to the gunfire. On the other hand, apparently it is perfectly OK to shoot real arrows from horseback doing some kind of Japanese mounted archery according to a flyer I saw posted in a tack shop a while ago. Go figure !!!
