Coyote ammo

anywhere from a .222 to a .243 will be first choice and from 50 gr to 125 gr projectile. My first choice is a BSA .222 with a 50 gr Hornady vmax chased by 23 Gr. IMR3031. I reload so brand choice is up to you.

When I had a 243 I use to purchase 55 grain Winchester Nosler ballistic tip for use on groundhogs. It was expensive ammo 30 bucks a box but it was very accurate and very effective.

I believe there is also some varmint loads in 80 grain that would work.

The smallest bullet hornady loads for a 243 is a 58 grain bullet.

It should work quite well here is the velocity copied from their website

Test Barrel (24") Velocity (fps) / Energy (ft-lbs)
MUZZLE 100 200 300 400 500
3750/1811 3308/1409 2909/1090 2544/833 2206/627 1896/463

Hornady does not make a 50 grain v-max for the 243.

He is correct. He caught my typo. Good catch, but great ammo none the less. Works great in my Tikka T3 Lite.

I have a Stevens 200, my first dedicated varmint rifle, i just want good accurate and consistent rounds.

I appreciate all your thought and help.

I'll keep the brass for reloading once i get to learn more about it.
