So a couple of friends and I have received permission to take some coyotes from privately owned farm land close to Calgary. The Owner has an issue with the coyotes harassing his cattle.

While my friends have been hunting larger game for a while, this will be my first hunting effort before some larger game next fall.

What is the popular option for the carcass after the kill? There are lots of comments related to the pelt but the carcass is usually left out of the post.

I have seen other "google" responses that usually involve "dump it in the bush" or "leave it where it is". This seems like it might attract a few other coyotes that are looking for a free meal.

Dump the carcass and let nature play it's course......I harvest a ton of coyotes and take the hide(we owe it to the animal to make the best of it!) I ditch them next to a lil ravine there gone in a week or soo...... Coyote won't eat them but birds and skunks ect. love em!!

Not sure about your area but I find a lot of farmers here with yote problems want anything to do with mange infected coyotes cleaned up. There have been instances with yotes lying in straw piles passing the mange onto live stock. The yotes with mange are often burnt as a precaution. Most clean carcasses are tossed in the bush. Some kids will sometimes set them out near a tree line to lure in mag-pies to plink at.
