A week or so back, I started a discussion "Coyote cartridges pro and con". I got 5 pages of good response and discussion. I decided to go with a 22 or 204 calibre rifle, but couldn't decide on the cartridge. I finally decided that there wasn't really that much difference between them all, and decided to let the rifle make the decision. Shortly afterward, I came across a Remington 700 LVSF light varminter in .223 Rem. The price was right and soon it was mine.

The scope is a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40

Wheee!

I had the same rifle for a few years, they are great! I shot a half dozen coyotes and one wolf with mine, all with 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. Very lethal out to 250 yards.

Interestingly, the first box of factory ammo I purchased to do an initial sighting-in is Federal V-Shoks using 55 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. I glad to hear they worked well in your gun, although I assume you used the BTs in your own reloads.

I'm off to the range later today to fire a few rounds.
