I had been watching this yote for a good 2 weeks, he would mouse hunt a stubble field broad daylight almost everyday and check the fence rows for bunnies.
Last week I had sent my dogs into a bush to try to push him out, the yote wailed like a baby and slipped out the back door.
A few days later I set up on him in a fence row and called him to within 400yards with my hand calls, he bolted in the other direction and I let out two Hail Mary's..
Yesterday I was finally able to get 4 guys together to push a few small bush lots with my main focus on the stubble field he hung out in. I was on the hot wing and sure enough the boys pushed this sneaky bugger my way, they did not see him, he was trying to slip through the corn on his way to a safe fence row never to be seen again....he did not know I was near by. I spotted his head bolting through the corn stubble slightly quartering towards, instantly I got down on my knee out of sight and steadied the .22-250. I got on him good, got in front of him broadside, squeezed and followed through with a smooth pull....BANG.....dog does a back flip and I let out a huge food chain predator SCREAM....WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
3 seconds later he pops back up and bolts for the row full tilt, I had to put two more rounds in him to roll him again, dead dog...long live the beast....another scream.....WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
