Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to decide on what to use for an eCaller for my Coyote work this year. Have an older foxpro that doesn't have great volume and a small amount of sounds. I want to have more volume, better sound quality and options like layering 2 calls at once. I also utilize hand calls over top of my electronic calls.

I'm thinking of getting either:

a) Icotec outlaw (cheaper, 1 large speaker, nice to use controller, 5 year warranty)

b) Foxpro Shockwave (2 speakers that supposedly can rotate sounds between them for different movement simulation, after market sounds like MFK, supposedly a quiter decoy add-on, 5 year warranty)

The outlaw is a bit cheaper, but doesn't have couple of functions I'd like to try and has one speaker vs. 2.

Does anyone have any preference or experience? Both seem to have nice controllers with back light. One of the things I hate about my current unit is how hard the remote is to use and the terrible distance it works at.

thanks

Sounds like you answered your own question. I have an older foxpro wildfire2 and will probably be looking to try something different this year. I've been looking at the Lucky Duck brands. Mostly looking for a unit with a decoy and something that I can easily swap sounds on.

Not sure if he mentions his caller in this clip, but check out his channel for more info.
His dogs are an added bonus to his success.

What makes you move towards the Lucky Duck Brand?

I've looked up what reviews I can. Lucky Duck seems to have a good reputation, but so does Icotec & Foxpro for the most part.

Where foxpro always gets the edge from me is the fact that they have some of the best customer service around that you won't get with icotec. Many of the features like foxbang are also a huge help when trying to fumble calls, remotes, gun etc
I have used a shockwave before and they are the Cadillac of coyote calls with an awesome remote and features.

Had my foxpro fury 2 for a long time now.almosy 20 years id say.

I havnt used any other makes, But foxbang is an awesome setting, I've got doubles and triples because of it.

Foxpro has tons of sounds too, Not sure on others.

I just ordered a Shockwave for myself and some Foxpro Infernos to try out.

I have a Foxpro Crossfire, which came pre-loaded with something like 75(?) calls (sorry I forget).
But I went to Foxpro website and just bought a whole bunch more calls, downloaded them to my computer, then uploaded them to my Crossfire.
I ended up with somewhere around 175 calls.

By the way, if you look at Foxpro calls, they are numbered, just to do with when they were created kinda thing. But when you download them to your computer, you have the option to re-name or re-number these calls.

I created a 'playlist' of sorts. Numbered all Coyote calls 000 to 038, then all Rabbit/Hare calls 039 to 055 for example.
For all the different species, I categorized them that way. When I had all the calls sorted/categorized that way, then I uploaded the works to my Crossfire.

Finally, I made a Cue Card, printed off my call sheet in large bold font, so that it is easy reference card, then laminated it.

When I am in the field calling, my 2 priority calls will be 1) Coyote 2) Rabbit/Hare 3) Birds.

I have played with it enough, that what I will do is sequence calls. If I start out with coyote, I don't just play any single call, without blending it with a second call.
It takes some fooling around, but once you get familiar with the calls, and which calls can blend together, it really changes up what you can do with it.

I just purchased some mfk sounds myself. I'll see what they do. I have an older foxpro hellfire and the standard calls worked. I'm curious to find out what the Foxpro shockwave will do and compare the stock sounds to MFK sounds.

most Foxpro sounds suck. MFK, Tony Tebbe, Boss Predator Acoustics are much better

The Shockwave being able to play two sounds at once with the Fox Fusion feature is a big plus
