Coyote with an air rifle

Won't play on my computer? I sold a RWS 350 .177 to a guy and he shot a coyote at about 50 ft coming around a bale stack in the ribs. The yote yelped and was spinning around biting itself.When it paused the next pellet went in the left eye socket resulting in an instant kill.Lucky yes........ fatal yes.

I still have that Magnum 350..... And man have I killed a pile of stuff with it.
 
12:20 of the video was just too shaky! Kill shot was cool though.

I think folks underestimate air rifles in the right hands & capable of proper shot placement.

The common belief is that a 22 is non lethal and anything under that is a kids toy.
 
18 gr pill ? Has to be perfect. Had the shot been off by an inch, hard bone would be encountered
Have seen too many poor kills with .22 to even think of using a lighter lead

With the right velocity the hard bone would not be an issue. That being said, shot placement is critical, as with any type of hunting.
 
Kind of OT, this monkey hunting looks like a lot of fun. Some air rifle, some center fire.

 
Those that know nothing about the history and capabilities of airguns shouldn't be so self righteous in judging other "sportsmen". An opinion without experience is just methane .
