Coyotes 1 - Me 0

Went out to see what I could call in but ended up just going for a walk in the end, but I did have two nice encounters with some deer.

Did some calling and found two different groups of some coyotes, but couldnt get them to even peek their heads of the bushes. So no shots taken. :/ Now I know where they are for next time.


But on the walk in I bumped into this guy

And after I did some calling with no luck. I saw this guy walking down the bushline, so I decided to move over closer and wait for him to come to me. Within about 20yds. You can tell the point when he picked up my scent.

The close encounter made the morning for me

Man, its hunting. If i bagged a yote, buck, or criter everytime i went out there wouldnt be anything out there anymore. Lol. Im writing this from my duck blind right now, and lets just say its slow pickins today.

The fun is in getting away from it all. Keep getting out and enjoy the simple things.

I dont know why but Im just a heavy breather I guess, always have been. Doesnt help when the mics right in front of my face either.

Didnt buy a tag for it and it aint open for another week or two.

General OPn season last for how long in our area?
When is the snow gonna fly, my Parents used to tell of having to walk for miles in the snow to and from school from about September 1 when they where little growing up (Rosetown) in the Land of Living Skies back in the early 40's.

The seasons short now I think... I know it use to be like a month or something like that, but now its only like a week long. I think. Im more of a coyote hunter so I dont know all the rules. I dont really know how to clean them up and I dont have anywhere I can do it too, so Ive only been out once for them.

I heard pretty much the same stories. The snow was as high as the telephone poles and they use to walk up hill both ways. heh


I dont really get to go out for coyotes until deer season ends because of the main area I go in is in a bow/shotgun zone and you cant use a centerfire in there until the seasons done, so until then this is the only other place I can check out. :/
